Kavre (22 December 2017) – Habitat for Humanity Nepal and the National Reconstruction Authority entered into partnership on 19 December 2017 to conduct trainings on Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks (CSEB) in wards 10 and 12 of Kaverepalanchowk district. CSEBs are produced using locally available mud by community members trained on using hand-operated CSEB machines. This partnership aims to fulfil one of NRA’s visions to promote local resources and local livelihood while extending reconstruction support to the earthquake-affected community.
A total of sixty community members will take part in the three days CSEB making training under this partnership. The CSEBs produced as part of the training will be used in building a demo house.
“This partnership will strengthen our reconstruction efforts, develop skill set of the community members and enable us to serve vulnerable families through locally made and available resources.” Yubaraj Bhusal, NRA Chief.
