Habitat for Humanity Nepal has initiated GIS mapping to support surveying and mapping of its reconstruction effort in Nepal. The mapping system will help in extracting relevant geographic data in and from OPENSTREETMAP software, assist National Office in tracking and monitoring program progress and to identify families in need.
Habitat Nepal GIS team has recently conducted a baseline survey in an earthquake affected Salme VDC, Nuwakot district. A total of 529 households information and data were collected. The collected data will assist to identify beneficiaries group and support families affected by devastating earthquakes through owner-driven reconstruction approach.
Habitat Nepal is planning to roll out the GIS mapping in its other program sites in other regions.
